Privacy Policy

This Privacy Notice explains how Bishop’s Conservatory Junior School (“BCJS”, “the School”, “we”) collects and uses personal data through this website, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (Cap. 586) of Malta.

Who we are

The data controller for this website is Bishop’s Conservatory Junior School, Archbishop P Pace Street, Victoria, Gozo, Malta. You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@bcjs.edu.mt or on +356 2155 6506.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form. When you send us a message we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. We use these only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before enrolment.
  • Admissions. Applications are handled through the Church Schools Gozo portal, which has its own privacy notice. This website does not collect application data itself.
  • Cookie preference. We remember whether you accepted or declined cookies, stored in your own browser. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.

Embedded content from other services

Some pages include content from other providers: our Facebook news feed (displayed through Curator.io), lesson videos hosted on Vimeo, and a Google Map on the Contact page. When these load, the provider may receive your IP address and set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive any personal data from these embeds.

How long we keep it

Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for up to two years afterwards, unless they form part of a pupil’s record, in which case the School’s record-keeping rules apply.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be processed on our behalf by our website host and email provider, under agreements that require them to protect it. We may disclose data where required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email info@bcjs.edu.mt. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC), Malta, at idpc.org.mt.

We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
