At Bishop’s Conservatory Junior School, we believe that every child deserves a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where they can play, learn and grow. With this vision in mind, we embarked on an exciting journey to transform our school ground into a vibrant, multifunctional space that promotes physical activity, creativity, friendship and wellbeing.
The project began with an application for funding through the LEADER Programme within the Gozo Action Group Foundation, followed by extensive planning and consultation. Most importantly, we listened to our children, whose ideas and wishes helped shape the design of their new playground.
Following months of preparation, numerous meetings and unexpected construction challenges, our vision finally became a reality!
Our newly upgraded ground now features a football pitch with artificial turf, a basketball court with rubber flooring, a climbing wall, a trampoline, sand play areas, shaded seating and dining spaces, and accessible pathways. A beautifully landscaped area add greenery to the environment, while a specially designed communication board supports our commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every child has opportunities to communicate, participate and enjoy playtime.
More than just a playground, this project represents an investment in our children’s happiness, wellbeing and future.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to making this dream possible. Above all, we are proud that this transformation was inspired by the voices of our children.
Dreamed by our children. Built through determination. Created for everyone.
Together, we have created a space where memories will be made for generations to come!
